Learn how to track your work time manually in Helm ADE using clock in/out, editing entries, and viewing your time data.

Manual Time Tracking

Track your work time accurately with Helm ADE's built-in time tracking feature. Clock in when you start working on a project, component, PRD, or task, and clock out when you're done.

Getting Started

Clock In

  • Navigate to the Time Tracking section in your workspace
  • Select what you want to track time against:
  • - Project - Track time at the project level - Component - Track time on a specific component - PRD - Track time for a PRD you're implementing - Task - Track time on a specific task
  • Choose the specific item from the dropdown
  • Optionally add a description of what you're working on
  • Click Clock In to start the timer
  • Clock Out

    When you're finished working:

  • Your active timer will be displayed at the top of the time tracking section
  • Click Clock Out to stop the timer
  • The duration will be automatically calculated and saved
  • Switching Tasks

    You can only have one active timer at a time. To switch to a different task:

  • Clock out of your current timer
  • Clock in to the new task
  • Viewing Your Time

    Today's Summary

    The time tracking page shows a summary of your time for the current day, broken down by:

    • Manual time - Time you clocked in/out yourself
    • Agent time - Time from AI agent sessions (tracked automatically)

    Recent Entries

    Below the summary, you'll see a list of your recent time entries with:

    • Source (Manual or Agent)
    • Description
    • Duration
    • Date and time

    Editing Entries

    If you made a mistake or forgot to clock out:

  • Find the entry in your time entry list
  • Click the edit icon (pencil)
  • Adjust the times or description as needed
  • Save your changes
  • Deleting Entries

    To remove a time entry:

  • Find the entry in your time entry list
  • Click the delete icon (trash)
  • Confirm the deletion
  • Note: You can only edit or delete your own manual time entries. Agent time entries and other users' entries can only be modified by administrators.

    Tips

    • Be consistent - Clock in at the start of each work session to build accurate time data
    • Add descriptions - Brief descriptions help you remember what you worked on
    • Check your timer - The active timer indicator is always visible so you don't forget to clock out
    • Review regularly - Check your time entries at the end of each day for accuracy
